    Merry Christmas Ed Forsyth, creator of Huell Howser. For those who don’t know, Ed Forsyth has been playing the character of Huell Howser on the PBS show Califonria’s Gold for over fifteen seasons.  A lot of people think Huell is a real person who interviews unsuspecting folks who cross his path as he explore the history of California. But he is not.  Ed is a master improviser who refuses to break character. He is always the plain talking, salt of the earth southern gentleman named Huell Howser. Ed’s talent can be seen during the interviews.  Specifically the first question.  After watching him all Christmas day here are my top 10 first questions: What are you doing? What have you got in your hand? Why are you digging? What city are we in? Well look at this! Look at this guy! Are we in a restaurant? Mmm, Mmmmmmmm.  You look different! Look!
